What You'll Contribute
The Senior Data Analyst plays a key role on the Data Science Marketing Analytics team, working collaboratively with various business units to analyze digital and print marketing performance data, translate information into insights, and drive meaningful business results. The candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks such as marketing channel performance deep dives, forecasting, customer analysis and segmentation, campaign measurement, test vs. control design and analysis, data mining, as well as various ad-hoc analyses in a quick-turnaround data-driven environment. The individual will process scalable and efficient analytic work processes to enable timely analysis, measurement of results, and delivery of data to the various teams. The position requires the ability to identify, study, and solve business problems using analytical and technical expertise along with the ability to present results to various audience levels. The Senior Data Analyst is a motivated self-starter with a passion for digging into complex data to reveal opportunities and exploit unrealized potential. The candidate will become a subject matter expert in Sallie Mae’s data warehouse and must be able to interpret the data and present analyses in a way marketing partners can understand and act on. They will utilize strong technical skills, business analysis, and innovation to drive analyses to completion. The candidate is a strategic thinker working autonomously and effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment.
What You'll Do
Analytic Support
Provides insights on marketing patterns and trends, making strategic recommendations from analyses.Manages forecasting processes and provides relevant information to the marketing teams.Works with stakeholders on identifying key areas of need for analysis.Proactively identifies analysis opportunities.Ad-hoc Research Requests
Serves as a subject matter expert in channel marketing and the data sources supporting them.Provides analytical support, including various pull-through curves and segmentations.Applies creativity in problem investigation.Helps respond to inquiries about specific questions from across the enterprise.Engages network of analysts and peers to discover new data opportunities, applications, and usages.Process Improvement
Analyzes existing code to understand the opportunities for improvement.Explores opportunities to streamline and automate current processes.Self-Development
Develops expert level knowledge of all the data sources.Presents all information in a manner that is clear to the target audience.Continues to develop technical skills while enhancing strategic aspects of the job.
What You Have
Minimum Education, Skills and Experience Required
Master's Degree (Business, Finance, Economics, Sciences, Engineering).3-5+ years quantitative analysis experience with a focus on marketing analytics with experience in Paid Search, SEO, Affiliate, Email, Direct Mail, and/or Display marketing data.3-5+ years of experience utilizing SAS/SQL to extract and manipulate large amounts of data to produce strategy insights and performance reports.Familiarity with reporting and automation including the data visualization tools Power BI and/or Tableau.Confidently and effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.Highly motivated, proactive, resourceful, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional team.High attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies in data, reporting, and forecasting tasks.
