Job Overview:Responsible for the overall collection of data, quality control of the databases, and statistical analysis of data for use in support of the effective operations of the central Medical Staff Office (MSO). Maintain the system's credentialing software with current data pertaining to the medical staffs and all privileged providers within the RWJBarnabas Health System. The Data Analyst will collect and analyze data, interpret results, and create reports and recommendations to the leadership team. The Data Analyst will support the central MSO AVP and Medical Staff Leadership to interpret results from the analysis and corresponding reports. Provides direct support to all department team members and serves as a liaison to the enterprise Information Technology department. Possesses and develops a strong grasp of the medical staff operations and the cultures of each affiliated institution and works to find common ground for efficient solutions across the RWJBarnabas Health enterprise.Qualifications:Required:Associate degree or combination of education and experience deemed equivalentProficient in technology and data scienceSuccessful completion of all RWJBH orientation programsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work under minimal supervision and to adapt quickly to changes within the environmentExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)Experience with software testing and quality assuranceFamiliarity with database query language and data analytics toolsPreferred:Healthcare experience or education in Healthcare Administration strongly preferredKnowledge of credentialing software and associated applications strongly preferredEssential Functions:In accordance with established policies and procedures for the Central MSO, the Database Analyst shall:Maintain and support the credentialing database used by the Central MSO as well as local hospital medical staff officesAct as a functional and technical resource and system expertProvide MSO leadership with real-time data analysis to establish and meet quality objectives and enhance operational efficiency and effectivenessAct as a liaison between the credentialing software vendor and RWJBarnabas Health IT, and local Medical Staff OfficesAssure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of the credentialing database in accordance with system and/or hospital policiesValidate data and maintain data dictionaries for all central MSO systemsSupport all users by providing education, ongoing assistance, reference, and troubleshootingAssist in creating and maintaining productivity reports, graphs, and other information as requestedAssist with the integration and optimization of the enterprise credentialing software system and inter-system integrationAssist in the development and support of credentialing related formsLead and/or participate in special project teams as assignedParticipate in physician/end-user training and problem solvingMaintain the confidentiality of all internal correspondence as well as with external entitiesContinuously strive to achieve individual, team, and departmental goalsAll other duties as assignedOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
