Job Description
This BAE Systems program supports our federal customer who plays a key role in providing direct cybersecurity engineering support. This program provides systems and security engineering and integration support to specific Government-sponsored projects, pilots and prototypes. This includes solution planning and engineering, defining security requirements, target architecture, interoperability and integration, system testing, Verification and Validation, Modeling and Simulation, studies and analysis, post-deployment security validation (PDSV), and project risk management. As part of this effort, you will serve as the Lead Agile Project Manager (LAPM) where you'll oversee a team of Release Train Engineer (RTE)s who support Agile Release Trains (ART) in delivering value and reducing cybersecurity risks to our customer's environments.
The LAPM is a Key Position on the program and will report directly to the Program Manager. The LAPM will have people management responsibility for approximate 10 staff and overall responsibility for a team of 12-15 BAE and subcontractor staff. The LAPM will serve as an ART coach who brings facilitation, collaboration, and scaled agile framework (SAFe) expertise to guide the team of RTEs in leading ART events and processes, removes impediments and barriers, and supports the teams in delivering value. The LAPM will serve as the primary interface to the customer's Process Governance Section Chief and is responsible for communicating with stakeholders (Process Governance, Product Manager/Product Owner, Functional Support teams, development teams), escalating impediments, assist with risk and schedule management and reporting, and driving improvements.Key Responsibilities:
Member of program leadership team; responsible for keeping PM informed of team progress, morale, impediments, etc.Team staffing; staff morale and performanceSupport Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness by facilitating team preparedness through Pre- and Post-PI Planning activitiesManage team assignments and ART coverageOversee schedule activities supporting customer Acquisition Management BranchWork closely with stakeholders across contractor and government teamsInterface with development team agile coaches; identify areas for improvement and coachingCoach leaders in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets; recommend improvementsWork with program peers and across functional teams to identify and resolve issuesProvide resource recommendations to address critical bottlenecksDrive relentless improvement across the ARTs, the team and the program.Optional Role:
This role includes the option (not a requirement of the role) to be involved in broader program activities and provide direct support to the PM, as required. Activities may include:
Working with program functional areas (Data Management, Information Assurance, Functional Test and Solution Management) to identify, address, and resolve customer concerns, identify improvement initiatives and work with peers to drive program improvements.Serving as technical liaison to PM to keep abreast of technical developments on the programParticipate in technical/program discussions with government leadership and contracting teamsParticipate in program finance, budget and staffing discussions/decisions across the program
** This position can be based out of Sterling, VA, Rockville, MD, or Pensacola, FL. This position is eligible for maximum telework (>50%). **Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Must have experience in the following areas:
Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience as a Project ManagerIn-depth understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment; demonstrated experience as a Release Train Engineer or equivalent role (e.g., Agile Project Manager)Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience planning, managing, organizing and completing multiple projects concurrently and ensuring alignment to customer strategy and goalsDemonstrated experience managing multiple teams concurrentlyDemonstrated people and performance management experience; experience with staff development and coachingDemonstrated experience interfacing with senior government customers; briefing project status experience making improvement recommendations and implementingExperience interfacing and briefing government customersKnowledge of risk and dependency managementStrong organization, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; must be a strong team player with experience working across functional areas and contractsSelf-motivated, self-starter who can effectively perform/deliver in a remote work environmentMust have an active Secret Clearance and be eligible for TS/SCIMust be able to obtain DHS EODPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140
