processes new residential title orders for all transaction types and ensures that title search components are accurately electronically entered and stored. A Title Searcher gathers and organizes specific data affecting the subject real property, current and prior vested owners, and applicable proposed Insureds, from the public records and tax assessor of the county in which the subject property is located, review and verify the accuracy of the search results and, if necessary, make corrections according to Company and underwriter standards, thereby providing an accurate assemblage of facts for a Title Examiner to make a determination regarding the conditions necessary to ensure marketable title.This is an in-office position, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.Responsibilities:Model and hold others accountable to the Land Title Guarantee Company culture and act as a coach and mentor to others in the organizationReview and markup search for all documents affecting property according to standard underwriting searching guideline stopping points and updating necessary information on the appropriate search platform.Performs public record searches using back plant materials for pre-computer information; identifies necessary county search needs.Pull plat/arb map, base, or background file for limited depth of search; order prior title work from storage if necessary and available.Retrieve images and/or hard copies of documents from imaging, microfilm, and/or county; compare data to order for accuracy.Compares the legal description of the property with the legal description contained in records and indices.Verifies such factors as deed of ownership, real property tax parcel number, description of property’s boundaries, and status of non-public, legal access.Organize the chain of title in chronological order for the examiner.Maintain tracking steps of searched orders through the computer system.Attend training for knowledge and skill opportunities.Attend department meetings to establish teamwork and gather technical and corporate information.Maintain and protect corporate security by applying cybersecurity practices in daily decision-making and processes.Perform other related duties as assigned by Team Leader or Department ManagerSuccess Factors:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExceptional interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityExcellent organizational skillsHighly detail-orientedEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCustomer service experience is strongly preferredProficiency with E-mail, Microsoft Office Suite, and InternetWorking Conditions:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Compensation:The anticipated salary for this position is $40,000 to $48,000 annually.
