Hardware Developer 4 at Oracle in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description Oracle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMC, Safety, and Radio Equipment Homologation Engineer to join our Global Compliance Engineering team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Oracle's diverse product portfolio meets all necessary regulatory standards including Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Safety, and Radio Equipment homologation across multiple global regions. The successful candidate will possess expert knowledge in international regulatory standards, certification processes, and have experience managing multi-country compliance for IT, telecommunications, and electrical products. Qualifications: + Education : Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred. + Experience : + Minimum of 10 years of experience in global regulatory compliance, focusing on EMC, safety, and homologation in IT, telecommunications, or electrical industries. + Extensive experience with international regulatory standards and testing (FCC, CE, UL, KC, CCC, etc.). + Proven track record of leading homologation projects for complex products in multiple countries. + Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product development, supply chain, and testing labs. + Technical Expertise : + Strong understanding of EMC, electrical safety and Radio Equipment standards, and product certification processes. + Familiarity with lab testing procedures, test plans, and technical documentation preparation. + Experience with regulatory compliance software and tools for tracking and managing certification processes. + Skills : + Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills. + Proficiency in Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, and similar project collaboration tools preferred. + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. + Strong analytical skills for interpreting regulatory standards and test data. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience working with accredited global certification bodies and third-party labs. + Hands-on experience with EMC (e.g., conducted emissions, radiated emissions, immunity, etc.) Safety and Radio Equipment testing. + Professional certifications in EMC, safety compliance, or related fields (e.g., CISSP, iNARTE EMC Engineer Certification). + Knowledge of recent regulatory changes such as the EU Battery Regulation and other environmental standards. Global Certification Strategy : 2. Lead Oracle's global product certification efforts, ensuring compliance with country-specific EMC, safety, and homologation requirements. 3. Develop and maintain certification roadmaps for key regions including North America, Europe and Middle East/Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America, adapting to regulatory updates. 4. Lead certification strategies for emerging markets for NPI products, focusing on regulatory challenges. 5. Regulatory Compliance : 6. Ensure compliance with international standards, including but not limited to FCC, CE, VCCI, KC, CCC, SDPPI, and UL. 7. Collaborate with regional regulatory bodies, understanding and interpreting national laws and regulations for product entry. 8. Engage with certification bodies and test labs to obtain EMC and safety certifications for both new products and existing product updates. 9. Keep the organization updated on regulatory changes that may impact certification timelines or market entry. 10. Testing and Certification Process Management : 11. Specifying EMC, safety, and Radio Equipment requirements, and coordinating with internal and external test labs, including test configurations and schedules. 12. Review technical documentation, including product test plans, certification applications, and reports, to ensure compliance with country-specific regulations. 13. Cross-functional Collaboration : 14. Work closely with Global Trade Compliance, Market Access and HW Strategy group, product management, and engineering teams. 15. Act as a point of contact for regional Sales teams and customers to address country-specific certification inquiries. 16. Train and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on compliance and testing processes. 17. Process Improvement : 18. Develop, document, and improve internal compliance procedures to streamline global certification efforts. 19. Identify areas for process automation or enhancements to reduce certification lead times and increase efficiency. 20. Proactively engage in risk assessments for product certifications, identifying any potential issues in product design that could impact EMC or safety compliance. 21. Documentation & Reporting : 22. Manage certification renewals, ensuring that all Oracle products maintain up-to-date regulatory compliance certifications. 23. Vendor and Supplier Management : 24. Engage with third-party certification vendors, test labs, and government agencies worldwide. 25. Review and approve vendor documentation to ensure alignment with Oracle's global compliance standards. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range: from $97,400 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
