Project Engineer

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.Complete, under supervision of Project Manager (“PM”), work associated with federal construction projects which includes writing subcontractor scopes of work, making subcontract and vendor inquiries, assisting with progress payments and management and financial aspects of the construction project. Review and prepare shop drawings; interpret engineering drawings and prepare basic cost estimates for work.Compensation & Benefits:Estimated Starting Salary Range for
Project Engineer : $75,000 - $85,000.Pay commensurate with experience.Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.Project Engineer Responsibilities Include:Reviews project controls including processes, procedures, and tools to ensure project(s) stays within budget and on-time.Inputs updates for the project master construction schedule.Develops subcontractor scopes of work, evaluates bids, as submitted, and assists with estimating and vendor procurement during pre-construction phase.Assists with managing on-site subcontract and 3rd-party craft; evaluates on-site progress.Assists PMs in Change Order management.Performs shop drawing reviews and prepares Owner submittals.Updates and reviews schedule of values for projects to ensure cash flow is positive throughout the process.Ensures charges on projects comport with contract language and FAR guidelines.Assists in the project setup and close-out work processes to ensure adherence to company standards and contractual requirements.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Project Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, business, engineering, or other related scientific field, and/or 5 years of project construction engineering or field engineering experience.Familiarization with project controls, accounting, estimating, planning/scheduling, progress measurement and forecasting/reporting.Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes.Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint and other business-related programs such as scheduling software (such as Primavera).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills.Ability to identify issues and recommend workable solutions.Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of federal construction projects and methodology.Ability to work with cross-functional groups and build internal/external relationships.Ability to properly manage, coordinate and prioritize resources, people, work activities and projects.Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.Company Information:Cherokee Nation Businesses Corp - CFED (CNB)
