Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure to meet the organization's technological needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our systems, while also providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain complex systems infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess system needs, and develop solutions that align with business objectives.Perform system analysis, capacity planning, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.Develop and maintain system documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for system enhancements and improvements.Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions.Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for system emergencies and critical incidents.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or lead role.Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.Proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologies.Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Solid understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and disaster recovery strategies.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex system issues.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus.The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following locations is:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $128,000 to $211,000 per yearCalifornia (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $119,000 to $196,000 per yearColorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $108,000 to $178,000 per yearOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
