Job Summary
The Account Manager will communicate the value of Platform Equinix and our business Ecosystems to customer executives, creating business partnerships and synergies with both a focus on sell to and sell through opportunities. The Account Manager will also facilitate technical and financial workshops with customer marketing, sales and business operations on how they might benefit from a partnership with Equinix, and he/she will be a major contributor for execution of sales and account plans on named accounts. Finally, the Account Manager will act as an advocate within Equinix for the customer, representing them to Equinix executive leadership and gaining sponsorship to ensure an excellent customer experience.
Responsibilities
Advisory and Solution Selling within assigned territory
Grow sales and revenue on year over year basis
Consistently and reliably use Equinix sales methodology and sales account plans, while maintaining up to date Account Plans, at all times
Meet with existing customers and customer's executive team on a regular and recurring basis
Drive partner channel activity. Work with Equinix channel resources to build pipeline
Report sales status, opportunities and forecast in a timely manner
Negotiate contracts
Communicate sales strategy and gain sponsorship from executive leadership within Equinix
Manage customer expectations and Equinix implementation teams
Listening to customers and creating programs and support tools to improve the Customer experience with add value provided by Equinix
Qualifications
Essential
Business fluent in English
Proven sales performance and success in hitting targets
Experience / ability to operate in an international environment within geographically dispersed team.
Experience in selling successfully high value technical products and services in the Enterprise, Networks and IT market to senior management
Ability to identify and develop business opportunities
Good interpersonal & negotiation skills
Creation of high quality business proposals in line with agreed customer needs and expectations
Provision or accurate revenue forecasts
Demonstrated success managing large and complex customer relationships
Experience maintaining written account plans and conducting executive management reviews
Good analytical and presentation skills
Ideally someone with some previous experience dealing with Network Service Providers or Enablers
Willingness to travel
Degree qualified or equivalent experience
