We are looking for a
Project Engineer
for our
Plymouth, MI
facility. The Project Engineer manages projects from scoping to commissioning, incorporating requirements from process engineers, production personnel, and senior management. The Project Engineer plans projects to minimize costs and downtime, sources parts, equipment, and labor, and tracks project progress and spending.Your Responsibilities:Serve as a project manager for projects generated by others. Projects will range in cost from $10,000 to upwards of $500,000.Create capital expenditure requests (Non-Order-Based Spending).Design simple mechanical solutions, including pipework and simple parts/structures.Maintain positive liaison with existing vendors.Source new vendors for parts, equipment, and labor.Obtain competitive quotations from multiple vendors.Identify and propose upgrades and/or purchase of new equipment.Occasionally work with Quality to implement corrective and preventive actions.Work closely with the Financial Controller on project costing and tracking.Your Profile:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.Knowledge and ability to use basic manual and powered tools.5+ years of project experience in industrial environments.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Working knowledge of CAD required. Proficiency in three-dimensional CAD is preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work within a cross-functional team. Ability to foster and maintain relationships with vendors.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency interpreting mechanical drawings (e.g., pipework and instrumentation diagrams, CAD drawings of parts and structures).Willingness to get hands-on with dirty, noisy, and hot equipment when help is needed.We offer:Aside from a dynamic global culture and leading market position, we are proud to offer our employees development opportunities, competitive salary, and
