Description & Requirements

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Communications VOIP Lead in the Falls Church/Alexandria, VA area. This is an ONSITE position supporting the US government.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provides technical direction for telecommunications activities including planning, designing, installing, and maintaining large telecommunications networks.

Develops, operates, and maintains voice, video, and data communications systems.

Applies telecommunications engineering principles and theory to propose design and configuration alternatives.

Evaluates existing communications systems to identify deficiencies and network performance improvements.

Consults with user personnel to ensure that problems have been properly identified and that the solution will meet the requirements.

Analyzes network performance, usage and traffic flows, accesses and interfaces, transmission techniques, and protocols.

Performs network analyses and feasibility studies concerning communications and communication networks.

Prepares studies and gives presentations on communications concepts.

Provides technical guidance to other personnel concerning data communications requirements.

Prepares or participates in preparing functional specifications for acquiring commercially available data communications networks.

Designs entire networks or portions of networks that include selection of hardware and software packages.

Oversees voice network reconfiguration and billing reconciliations.

Ensures that all software including network control programs satisfy the communications needs covering both the hardware and software installed.

Provides regulatory monitoring and voice network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in directly related field

CCNA certification

Must have at least 4 years of Digital Audio Recording (DAR) and Video Tele-conferencing (VTC) experience

Must have Cisco Voice over IP (VOIP)/ Unified Communications experience. Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.

Carrier experience with porting, SIP integration, and edge integration (like TDM gateways and SBC’s).

Technical supervisory experience regarding telecommunications engineering

Experience planning, evaluating, and coordinating the installation of local and/or remote data and voice communications equipment such as terminals, video conferencing units, multi-point conferencing units, and VOIP telephones

Experience managing and issuing individual and system PKI certificates

Ability to ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

CCS experience

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an IT, engineering, or network field

10+ years IT experience

Clearance Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to setting start date

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/walking/talking; and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Requires frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers

Communicating with others to exchange information

Working with computers

Must be able to lift and move hardware weighing up to 75 pounds
