Description & Requirements ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented IT Monitoring Specialist to join our team in Alexandria, VA . This is an ON-SITE position supporting the US government . Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Utilize monitoring tools to track system performance, availability, and security. Ensure all IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, applications, and databases, are functioning optimally.Respond to system alerts and notifications. Investigated and investigate and diagnose issues, and escalate complex problems to higher-level IT support teams as necessary. Document and track incident resolution progress.Analyze performance data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement. Recommend and implement solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability.Generate and review regular reports on system performance, incidents, and other relevant metrics. Provide insights and recommendations based on these reports.Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and system backups. Ensure adherence to IT policies and procedures.Work closely with other IT team members, including network engineers, system administrators, and application developers, to address and resolve issues.Maintain accurate records of monitoring processes, incident responses, and system changes. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.Monitor security alerts and logs to detect and respond to potential security threats. Assist in maintaining compliance with security policies and protocols.Provide support to end-users as needed, addressing any IT-related issues or concerns that arise Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years' experience in IT monitoring or a similar role.Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure or Splunk.Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, and databases.Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools.Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks is a plus.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Effective communication skills both written and verbal.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Engineering.Certificates such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ITIL Security Clearance Requirements: US CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.Frequently communicates w/co-workers, management & customers.
