Medical Benefits 401k PTO Competitive pay Job Details Job Details: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team within the Mortgage industry. This exciting role involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a sharp eye for detail and a proven track record in financial planning and management. Responsibilities: Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the leadership team. Supervise the investment of funds and manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities, execute capital-raising strategies to support a firm's expansion, and deal with mergers and acquisitions. Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors. Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities; maintaining relationships with the investment community. Report financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements. Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field. A Masters degree or equivalent professional certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the legal industry. Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting and risk management. Extensive knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methodologies. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills. Advanced proficiency in Excel and other accounting software. Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence to serve as the companys financial spokesperson. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
