Shift times are 0630-1900 and 1830-0700.Every other weekend required.Holiday requirements as needed to meet unit needs.Floating to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care may be required.Unit schedulers will make traveler's schedules.Unit Specific Information
Department: StepdownCommon titratable & set rate drips include: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, Insulin; maintenance doses of IV meds (non-titratable).Nurse aids/patient care tech ratios and duties.Block scheduling and self-scheduling policies.Additional Details
Number of Beds: 33Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-5Types of patients include: young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure.RN's are required to titrate drips.Charge Nurse present on each shift; may take assignments.CNA ratios: 1:10 - fluctuates based on unit census.RT equipment includes BiPAP, Airvo.RNs must read and interpret tele monitors.Scrubs: RN - Navy BlueOrientation: First week classroom then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor.Attributes for a successful nurse: strong sense of teamwork, friendly, positive can-do attitude, engagement in positive patient experience with commitment to bedside report and hourly rounding.
