Where you’ll work:

You will work onsite in Crystal City, VA initially and then transition to onsite in Manassas, VA within the first year.

Our Customer’s Mission:

Team Epsilon has been chosen to deliver full-spectrum IT and Cyber Security support to a critical and enduring multinational organization within the United States Department of Defense. This DoD organization manages the resourcing, development and sustainment of one of our nation’s most coveted and capable platforms. Our role in this mission involves managing classified environments, supporting international partners and foreign military sales (FMS) clients, providing top-tier desk-side support, and offering adaptable enterprise infrastructure solutions. An average day:

As Network Engineer II, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure within data centers, working under the guidance of senior engineers. This role involves hands-on involvement in network operations, troubleshooting, and optimization in a CISCO environment. This position will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure secure and efficient network performance. You will contribute to ongoing projects, including data center build-outs and upgrades, and maintain compliance with federal security standards. Additionally, in this position you will:

Assist in the design and implementation of network infrastructure for data centers, ensuring secure and reliable operations.

Support new data center build-outs, including equipment setup, configuration, and testing.

Monitor network performance, identify issues, and execute troubleshooting procedures.

Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure network compliance with federal security requirements.

Participate in maintaining network documentation, including configuration details and procedures.

Work on routing, switching, and network optimization tasks within CISCO environments.

Assist with the integration and deployment of network security measures, including firewalls and VPNs.

Provide technical support to team members and escalate issues as necessary.

Communicate effectively with team members to support project objectives and timelines.

Travel will be required to support various domestic and international network operations and projects.

Basic Qualifications:

As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

3+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on CISCO environments.

Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP routing protocols.

Experience with VLAN configuration, spanning tree protocol (STP), and network segmentation.

Skilled in using network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime.

Familiarity with implementing and managing security protocols, including IPSec VPNs, access control lists (ACLs), and 802.1X authentication.

Experience with Cisco IOS and NX-OS operating systems, including firmware upgrades and patch management.

Knowledge of implementing Quality of Service (QoS) for traffic prioritization and performance optimization.

Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages such as Python or Ansible for task automation.

Ability to support the integration of firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) into the network infrastructure.

Ability to work in a team environment and support senior engineers on complex tasks.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in network management.

Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Other Requirements:

Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

Will be subject to a federal background investigation.

Must be able to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, international travel will require a current US Passport.
