Fulltime - 40 hours a week
Salary Range - $50,000 - $52,000
Projected Start Date - January 6, 2025
The Cooperative is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) coalition of healthcare professionals and consumers licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health as the maternal and child health consortium serving the seven counties of South Jersey. The Multimedia Communications Specialist supports The Cooperative's diverse communication needs with a primary responsibility of providing visual and editorial concepts and solutions for various print, digital, social media, video, imprint, publication, and other public facing, and professional education projects undertaken by the organization’s communications and membership development department. The Multimedia Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in design and implementation of communication strategies to achieve organization’s mission and program specific goals.
Essential Functions:
Conceptualizes, designs, and coordinates the production of a variety of marketing/communication materials including but not limited to: graphic designs, brochures, newsletters, advertisements, flyers, posters, journals, annual corporate reports, manuals, displays, banners, imprinted items, signage, web-based items, videos, photographs and PowerPoint presentations and exercises editorial and creative controls with accuracy and attention to detail and critical emphasis/investment of time on research, spelling and grammar. * Works with staff to identify for each project the desired message, goal(s) and needs of the target audiences (cognitive, cultural, and social factors) and reflects such factors in finished products. * Photographs/records subjects/events using company-issued digital and video cameras; prepares, distributes, and maintains an internal library of videos, images and obtains stock images/videos, as needed. * Ability to create, produce and edit high-quality photo and video content from conception to posting/publishing on organization’s websites and social media platforms. * As a multimedia communications specialist, this person will successfully work individually and collaboratively to creatively produce custom photos, videos, graphics, and social media posts with brand consistency that help tell the story of the organization and its partner agencies. * Assists in developing content and designing campaigns for the organization’s diverse portfolio of programs, proposals, and initiatives. * Assists with social media messaging and information distribution, including recommendations for creative improvements and measuring success (Google Analytics and other analytics software/applications) of social media campaigns. * Works with other departments as assigned to cross-promote their activities and programs in print, digital, website, social media, and other marketing/communication campaigns/initiatives. * Assists Director of Communications & Membership Development, senior staff, and peers in providing support for organization’s hierarchy, board members and partner agencies. * Oversees the translation of materials and helps coordinate in-house review process. * Helps coordinate the in-house production and the outsourced production of all assigned communication materials. * Responsible for storage of production files that provides an efficient and accurate retrieval system/process for re-prints, revisions, archiving and disposal; also responsible for keeping inventory of digital assets including, but not limited to photos, videos, graphics for archival purposes/future use. * Maintains and revises visual elements of organization’s multiple websites, social media outlets and newsletters/email distributions. * Composes copy/text as needed and collaborates with staff writers/consultants on assigned publications. * Maintains and updates vendor lists and subscriptions. * The Multimedia Communications Specialist reports directly to the Director of Communications & Membership Development. * Assists the Director of Communications & Membership Development and Communications Coordinator in meeting the organization’s communications and public engagement objectives. * Meets regularly/for weekly production meetings (or more often as needed) with Director of Communications & Membership Development and Communications Coordinator to discuss short and long-term projects/objectives. * Performs other duties and special projects/assignments as assigned, including assistance in the set up and break down of video production for special events, news conferences and newsworthy events and other company functions which may include occasional travel within organization’s coverage area and occasional assignments outside normal work hours
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, advertising, public relations, journalism, or related field
High level of competency in current graphics software (Adobe Creative Cloud including inDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PremierePro, Canva), common presentation tools (PowerPoint, Prezi), digital photography and videography
Demonstrated expertise in web architecture and design
Strong photography skills and photo editing ability
Videography skills preferred
Strong working knowledge of social media tools and ability to apply such knowledge to effectively enhance and maintain the organization’s integrity, communication campaigns and outreach
Strong work ethic including timely adherence to all appointments and deadlines
Creativity and ability to excel independently and in collaboration with inter-department and intra-department staffs to achieve project objectives in a deadline-driven environment
Must be able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects in various stages of development
Ability to develop and maintain effective and positive interpersonal skills with fellow employees, board members, clients, and the public
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organization, documentation, and project management skills
Excellent editorial and copywriting experience
Valid driver’s license, car, and current insurance policy
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to see to read documents and hear well enough to communicate with others
Must be able to write, type on a computer, and use a telephone
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds

Requirements
