Our ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the food manufacturing industry, and a proven track record in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.In this critical role, the Food Safety and Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be a key player in maintaining our reputation for excellence, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our food products are safe, high-quality, and meet both our rigorous internal standards and external regulatory requirements.Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive food safety and quality management system that complies with local, national, and international regulations and standards. Lead and conduct regular internal audits of our quality systems, processes, and products to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement. Oversee and manage all aspects of our SQF certification, including the development and implementation of SQF systems and protocols. Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are consistently adhered to. Monitor and analyze microbiological data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Lead and manage our quality assurance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence. Work closely with suppliers and customers to address any quality-related issues or concerns, and ensure that corrective actions are taken promptly and effectively. Provide training and guidance to staff on food safety and quality matters, promoting a company-wide culture of quality and safety.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the food manufacturing industry. Certified SQF Practitioner, or equivalent qualification. In-depth knowledge of food microbiology, food safety principles, and quality assurance practices. Proven experience with Quality System Auditing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with staff at all levels, as well as suppliers and customers. A thorough understanding of local, national, and international food safety regulations and standards.
