The Saint Alphonsus Orthopedics Team is looking for a passionate and motivated Medical Assistant to work at our Riverside Orthopedics clinic located at the Fruitland Health Plaza!

Position Summary & Highlights

:

This position will work and rotate between all of the Orthopedics providers at the clinic.

You will work primarily at the Fruitland Orthopedics clinic, but will occasionally fill in at the Nampa Orthopedics clinic when needed.

Our highly skilled orthopedic surgeons and interdisciplinary clinical teams are regarded as among the finest in the region and many have received national acclaim for their quality care.

Our clinics offer patients both surgical and non-surgical treatment options for their problems. Patients can feel confident they are in capable hands with board-certified Orthopedic Surgeons whose highest priority is excellence in patient care.

What You Will Do

:

In addition to the typical MA duties, you will prep injections for minor procedures, complete chart prep, DME application, and suture removals.

You will also assist with surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, MRI authorizations, and potentially casting and cast removal.

An ideal candidate would have an interest in sports medicine and orthopedics, is a quick learner, has an easy going personality, and is a flexible team player willing to jump in on whatever is needed to be done.

Work Schedule:

40 hours/week, Mondays – Fridays, around the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm.

The position will work either a 4 - 9 and one half day or 4 - 10 schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

All Candidates: MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

American Medical Technologists (RMA)

National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)

New Graduates: Completion of either 6 months MA experience or completion of 100-hour MA externshipis required even with MA certification.

Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

*Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
