Job Description:
Voyager Space is building a company capable of delivering any space mission humans can conceive — for the benefit of all humankind. This HR Director will partner with Voyager and the Defense Segment leaders to strategically provide thought leadership and deliver objectives on talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, change management, and employee relations. Success in this role will require influential partnership with leaders across the enterprise to execute the HR strategies that drive business results and organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
Oversee the administration of human resource programs including compensation, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; flow down training and development requirements.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Strategic thinker with practical application of HR fundamentals; able to build and roll out new practices.
Knowledgeable in HR compliance, at state and federal levels, as well as for government contractors.
Confident thought leader and decision maker with courage to challenge others.
Ability to think critically and use sound judgment when taking action.
Results-driven individual capable of high-level execution and with a demonstrated sense of urgency.
Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible/willing to adjust as priorities and direction change.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Develops and maintains paperwork for new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
Provides guidance and input on restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.
Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
Minimum of 10 years of HR experience; minimum of 5 years within aerospace and/or government & defense.
5 years of experience in FAR, DFAR, and contracts regarding employment requirements.
Experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including payroll, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time.
Preferences:
Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Working knowledge of Unanet and Costpoint.
Salary Range:
$120,000 – $180,000
