Commercial Finance Associate Attorney

A reputable law firm is seeking a Commercial Finance Associate with 2-5 years of experience in multifamily housing transactions. This role involves working with investors and developers on complex commercial real estate transactions across the U.S., with a focus on affordable housing and community development. Experience with low-income housing tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and federal subsidy programs is preferred but not required.Location:Louisville, KYDuties:Represent clients in multifamily housing transactions, including those involving low-income housing tax credits and historic rehabilitation tax creditsHandle complex commercial real estate transactions such as tax-exempt bond financings and HUD-insured financingsAdvise clients on affordable housing developments and community projectsDraft and review legal documents related to real estate financing and developmentCollaborate with clients on partnership structuring for transactions, including federal subsidy programs (e.g., Section 8, RAD)Provide guidance on Agency financings and partnership tax matters as neededDemonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple complex transactions concurrentlyRequirements:2-5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, ideally with a focus on affordable housing or community developmentFamiliarity with low-income housing tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and federal subsidy programs preferredExperience with tax-exempt bond financings, HUD, and Agency financings is advantageousStrong interest in affordable housing and community developmentEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Active bar membership in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction(s)Skills:Excellent written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailWillingness to learn and adapt to new areas within commercial finance and real estateAbility to handle complex transactions and meet deadlines effectively
