A law firm in Jackson, CA is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. This position is ideal for new Bar passers who are passionate about criminal defense and eager to build their legal career. The successful candidate will provide effective legal representation to clients facing criminal charges, manage caseloads, and contribute to case strategy development. The firm offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision benefits, and a 401(k) plan.Duties and Responsibilities:Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial stages.Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and preparation.Draft and file legal documents, such as motions, briefs, and pleadings.Advise clients on criminal charges, potential defenses, and legal rights.Negotiate with opposing counsel and prosecutors to reach settlements or plea deals.Advocate for clients in court appearances and hearings, presenting evidence and arguments.Develop and implement effective case strategies, identifying and utilizing relevant evidence.Stay updated on current criminal law trends, changes in statutes, and legal precedents.Maintain organized and accurate case records and documentation.Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to ensure efficient case management.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Bar or pending Bar admission.Strong interest in criminal defense and client advocacy.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively in a fast-paced environment.Skills:Proficient in legal research and writing.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.Benefits Offered:Competitive compensationMedical insuranceVision insurance401(k) plan
