Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Houston, TX, seeks a dedicated and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing proactive client care and delivering exceptional quality service in handling criminal defense cases. Texas Criminal Law experience is preferred, and candidates must be licensed to practice law in Texas.Duties and Responsibilities:Represent clients in criminal defense cases from initial consultation through resolution.Develop and implement effective legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.Conduct thorough case investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing legal documents.Advise clients on their legal rights and options and guide the legal process.Negotiate settlements and plea deals with opposing counsel and prosecutors.Prepare and present compelling arguments in court, including motions, pre-trial motions, and trial arguments.Maintain accurate and detailed case files and documentation.Stay updated on changes in criminal law and legal procedures.Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and answer questions.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law in Texas.Experience in criminal defense law preferred.Demonstrated experience in handling criminal cases, including trials and negotiations.Strong understanding of Texas Criminal Law and legal procedures.Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Proven track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in Texas.Skills:Strong legal research and analytical abilities.Proficient in case management and legal documentation.Effective negotiation and trial advocacy skills.Excellent client relationship management.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Benefits Offered:Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.Paid vacation and sick time.401K with a generous employer match, available after 90 days of employment, if eligible.Location:Houston, TX
