A law firm seeks an experienced and bilingual Immigration and Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team in Conroe, TX. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, handling both immigration and state criminal law matters. This role offers flexibility with no set schedule and is ideal for a disciplined attorney capable of managing a fast-paced legal environment.Duties:Immigration Law:Represent clients in court for Individual Hearings, Removal Proceedings, Bond Hearings, and Cancellation of Removal ProceedingsHandle Adjustment of Status cases and submit BIA AppealsDraft and file Motions to Reopen/ReconsiderMaintain clear communication with clients regarding case processing and procedural updatesCriminal Defense:Represent clients in criminal court, handling arraignments, hearings, and trialsConduct thorough legal research and draft motions, briefs, and appealsMaintain consistent client communication, keeping clients informed of case progressNegotiate plea agreements with prosecutorsReview discovery materials, police reports, and other case evidenceCoordinate with court personnel and manage court dates and appointmentsRequirements:Minimum of two years of experience in immigration and/or state criminal lawLicensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State BarBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)Excellent legal writing and research skills with attention to detailStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases efficientlyReliable transportation and a valid Texas Driver’s LicenseWillingness to travel for court appearances and client meetingsEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Active Texas Bar license, in good standingSkills:Strong litigation and legal research skillsBilingual (Spanish/English) fluency is requiredExcellent communication and negotiation abilitiesAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentLocation:Conroe, TX (In-person position, with potential travel to Houston office as needed)Benefits:Health insurancePaid vacationHoliday payPerformance-based bonusesBusiness attire is required, with casual Fridays (except on scheduled court days)This is a great opportunity for a dedicated attorney to grow their career in both immigration and criminal law while working in a dynamic and flexible legal environment.
