plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of cannabis production, including prerolls, packaged flower, and infused prerolls. This individual must have a strong understanding of Michigans

Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA)

compliance requirements and be proficient with

METRC

for tracking and reporting. In addition, the role requires expertise in lean manufacturing, MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems, and deep knowledge of both cannabis and food-grade equipment. The Production Lead is expected to be an innovative problem solver who can navigate the complexities of cannabis product formulations, quality control, and compliance while ensuring a consistent, high-quality product for the consumer market.Key ResponsibilitiesCannabis Production OversightPre-Rolls, Packaged Flower, and Infused Products : Oversee the production of prerolls, packaged flowers, and infused prerolls (with concentrates and terpenes), ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to product specifications and quality standards.Formulation Knowledge : Ensure accurate incorporation of concentrates and terpenes into infused prerolls, maintaining strict control over formulations to meet product efficacy and flavor profiles.Batch Management : Ensure all products are tracked properly through

METRC , with accurate input on production batches and product movements, ensuring compliance with Michigans CRA regulations.Michigan CRA ComplianceRegulatory Adherence : Ensure all production activities strictly comply with

guidelines, including but not limited to packaging, labeling, testing, and safety protocols.METRC Mastery : Maintain accurate and timely input into

METRC , Michigans seed-to-sale tracking system, to ensure that all cannabis products are properly tracked from raw material to final sale. Oversee product data entry, transfers, and audits to ensure compliance at every stage of production.Audit Preparation : Prepare for regular state audits by ensuring all compliance documentation, reports, and tracking systems are up-to-date and accurate.Lean Manufacturing & Continuous ImprovementLean Manufacturing Principles : Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase productivity throughout the production process.Problem Solving : Quickly identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or quality issues, and implement solutions. Use lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma to continuously improve production workflows.Root Cause Analysis : Conduct systematic problem-solving when issues arise, utilizing tools like FMEA or 5 Whys to identify and resolve root causes effectively.MRP System ManagementMaterial Requirements Planning (MRP) : Use MRP systems to forecast material needs and schedule production efficiently. Ensure materials such as cannabis, packaging, and concentrates are available as needed to avoid downtime.Inventory Management : Track raw cannabis, concentrates, and packaging materials, ensuring accurate records in both the MRP system and

for full compliance with CRA requirements.System Onboarding and Training : Guide the successful implementation and onboarding of MRP systems and train team members to use these tools effectively for planning and inventory management.Food-Grade Equipment ExpertiseEquipment Knowledge : Manage the operation and maintenance of food-grade equipment, including grinders, cone-filling machines, packaging equipment, and infusion systems. Ensure machines are operating at full capacity and compliant with food safety standards.Maintenance and Troubleshooting : Schedule preventive maintenance and perform minor troubleshooting to ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition. Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve any major issues efficiently.Quality Control and ComplianceCannabis Quality Control : Oversee all quality checks to ensure that products meet required potency, terpene profiles, and visual quality. Ensure that every batch passes testing standards required by Michigan law.Infusion and Terpene Integrity : Guarantee the accurate formulation of infused prerolls, ensuring correct dosage of concentrates and terpenes for a consistent consumer experience.Compliance : Maintain detailed records of all production activities and ensure adherence to all
