Miftek is a Purdue Research Park company that designs state of the art instrumentation for life science and diagnostics. This rapidly expanding company has been awarded several key patents in the fields of cytometry, spectroscopy, and photonics. We are now developing a novel solution for single cell analysis. Our facility located in West Lafayette has easy access to campus, shopping, and downtown.RoleA full-time Senior Electrical Engineer will be integral to developing our newest technology to the point of commercialization. They will contribute to the planning, design, and testing of advanced hardware platforms that meet the high standards of performance required to compete in our industry. In this startup environment, they will have the opportunity to branch out and develop a broad skill set.ResponsibilitiesImplement sensing, controls, power, and other types of electronics within our instrumentsAssist in the testing and bring-up of new hardwareIntegrate electronics into our existing electronic, optical, and mechanical platformsImprove the performance of existing designs in terms of bandwidth, SNR, reliability, etc.Proactively identify requirements and critical issues in our electronics designsCoordinate with design contractors, board manufacturing, electronic component sourcingHelp ensure product designs can meet regulatory requirements for safety and EMCParticipate in design review for all aspects of our electronicsQualificationsBS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree4+ years of professional experience is idealAble to design, simulate, prototype, and troubleshoot electronic circuitsDemonstrable experience with producing PCB board level designs (schematic and/or layout)Able to work cohesively with electrical, firmware, and mechanical teamsAble to gain a deep understanding of our core technologyExperience in any of the following areas is a plus, but is not required: Photonics, Firmware / FPGA, Thermoelectric cooling, Mechanical integration, RF test and measurementEmployees of Miftek receive competitive salaries, full health coverage, 401k, and excellent leave, as well as opportunities to attend technology conferences.
