Position SummaryThe Training and Development Manager will partner with all levels of management to implement training systems, standards, and tools across multiple manufacturing facilities. The systems and processes that must be put in place are Operations training and on-the-job certification, trainer development, skill gap identification processes, training planning and management, site orientation, role specific on boarding, Management of courseware and training documents. Ensure auditable tracking, measurement, and evaluation via our Learning Management System.Major Job Responsibilities:Responsible to implement, manage and improve site training processes.Responsible to partner with local operations departments to build out and implement on-the-job training for critical rolesImplement and administrate a Learning Management System to build, track and assign local training,Responsible to ensure training documentation is stored, linked, and utilized as a part of the training processMeasure and report training effectiveness and return on training investmentsPartner with local high schools and community colleges to build talent pipelineLead the Training CommitteeResponsible to implement trainer development process to ensure the best trainers are utilized during the training processKey partner to safety and quality leader ensuring that all required compliance trainings are tracked locally and refreshed as neededPartner with local high schools and community colleges to build our talent pipeline.Key system owner ensuring we can see skill gaps and forecast future skill needs prior to losing experienced peopleDrive training efficiencies across roles saving us unnecessary risk and reducing the time allotted for trainingCritical Skills/Capabilities:Accountability: Holds self and others responsible for actions and results.Influence: Able to partner and build relationships to influence teams to work together, share best practice and develop and drive effective training for operations teamsDecision Making: Uses strong problem-solving skills and supporting information to arrive at optimal decisions in an appropriated timeframe; knows when to decide and/or when to seek additional input, and drive for consensusCommunication: willingness to work on the floor and in a heavy manufacturing world to ensure we can document and teach critical work processesGrowth and Results Oriented: Results oriented person that looks for constant ways to improve.Innovation: Able to support implementation of new processes and new learning technologies to drive training into the flow of workInterpersonal Skills: Possess keen awareness and understanding of the importance of strong interpersonal skills in communicating, achieving Company KPIs and leading people or teams.Technical Skills:Knowledge of Learning Management SystemsTraining Experience to include plan design and facilitationMicrosoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, FormsPrecision/CNC Machining Industry knowledge would be preferredLeadership Skills:Ability to influence others and drive toward a common vision or goalStrong consultative approachBuilds relationships, influences without authority, is a team player and collaborates with other leaders to achieve desired resultsStrong facilitation and communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational functions and levelsExcellent active listening skillsProblem solving and root cause identification skillsStrong analytic and decision-making abilitiesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
