Expectations:The Physician Advisor is responsible for ensuring the appropriateness of patient care through utilization management. This role involves conducting thorough secondary reviews of patient cases to evaluate care appropriateness and identify improvement opportunities while interfacing with utilization management staff to clarify patient statuses.

DUCATION:MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting; previous experience in utilization management or healthcare administration is preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:Required:

Current unrestricted Physician and Surgeon A with Furnishing License issued by Medical Board of California

Preferred:

Board certification in a relevant medical specialty in internal medicine, emergency medicine, general surgery, and or critical care medicine

SKILLS:Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex medical data and make informed decisions.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely; precise summary of clinical information to peers and medical directors.Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare providers and administrative staff.Technical Proficiency: Previous experience with EPIC EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Microsoft Teams is expected.Worker Type:Contractor Part time
