Our research-based curriculum also incorporates child development and parenting support to help parents boost their children’s early reading, school readiness, and social-emotional growth.Learn more about Literacy Partners: www.literacypartners.orgPosition DescriptionReporting to the Director of Program Operations, the Manager of Volunteers oversees an expanding volunteer program that supports our students, community outreach, fundraising efforts, and periodic organizational initiatives. The Manager will lead a volunteer program that reflects organizational values, meets organizational needs, and provides meaningful experiences for volunteers.Responsibilities:Manager of VolunteersDesign and execute strategies for volunteers to have meaningful experiences and contribute to Literacy Partners' goals based on periodic analysis of recruitment, retention, and impact. This includes strong alignment between program needs and volunteers’ interests by conducting rigorous and relevant volunteer orientations, training, and feedback systems.Collaborate with the development team, create and oversee opportunities for employees of corporate sponsors to have exciting volunteer experiences with Literacy Partners.Build and maintain relationships with volunteer recruitment portals and partners, expanding the program and establishing volunteer recruitment pipelines (especially from communities of color).Build and establish relationships with high schools and colleges, onboard interns, and provide meaningful internships, practicums, and project-based learning opportunities that meet the needs of our school partners and Literacy Partners programming and events.Manage all volunteer intake, registration, and onboarding, maintain all volunteer data in the database, and coordinate volunteer assignments for all departments.Supervise volunteers and interns, setting expectations and coaching on motivating students through culturally and trauma-informed practices.Trains staff working with volunteers and interns on requesting, retaining, best practices and time-keeping processes to ensure we meet the referring program's requirements.Manage and communicate workflows of assignments and projects with staff and volunteers.Provides monthly volunteer highlights for development and communications for stakeholder updates and newsletters.Additional ResponsibilitiesSupport Literacy Partners’ fundraising and program events throughout the year.Support on-site and off-site volunteer events and tabling events in the field.Provide monthly inventory reports and volunteer participation reports.Other tasks as assigned.QualificationsAt least 3 years of relevant professional experienceOutstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and proven relationship management skills.Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.Working knowledge of best practices in volunteer coordination.Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative work environment and promoting teamwork.Demonstrated ability to communicate, motivate, lead, and relate effectively to a wide variety of individuals.Demonstrated customer service skills.Able to develop and manage complex projects and budgets within guidelines.Able to work both independently and in cross-functional teams and solve problems creativelyOutstanding organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.A great sense of humor.Additional Workplace Expectations:This is a full-time, non-exempt position.Hours:
This is a hybrid position. Candidates will work in the office from 1 PM to 9 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and occasionally work on weekends.Compensation and Benefits:The annual starting salary range for this position is $57,000-60,000Literacy Partners is also proud to offer additional competitive benefits, including 20 vacation days, 3 personal days, 12 paid holidays, 40 hours of sick leave, excellent medical, dental, and vision plans, employer match to retirement plan contributions, employer-sponsored life insurance and long-term disability insurance, and access to pre-tax benefit programs such as commuter benefits and flexible spending accounts.How to Apply:
