This is a full-time (benefited)position as a float within the STL area health centers.

POSITION TITLE : Advanced Practice Clinician Float STL area health centers

STATUS : Full Time

REPORTS TO : Associate Medical Director; Medical Director

COMPENSATION:

$47 to $60/hour

This position is eligible for up to a $15,000 sign on bonus paid out over the first year of employment and requires a two year employment commitment.Must have or obtain the COVID Vaccines and Booster!Planned Parenthood Great Rivers (PPGR) offers a robust benefits package. POSITION SUMMARY

Under approved protocols and a collaborative practice agreement, provides high quality, patient-centered reproductive health care. Ensures an environment that honors patient autonomy and is consistent with approved affiliate protocols. Consistent with our patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery, PPGR offers day, evening, and weekend hours. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Requires mobility to provide physical exams.

Essential Duties

Following Medical Standards and Guidelines and protocols of PPGR o Assesses patient s family planning needs by obtaining and evaluating complete medical, surgical, social and familial health histories o Performs appropriate health screening procedures and physical examinations consistent with approved skills including, but not limited to, breast, pelvic recto-vaginal examination, testicular exam, prostate exam, and extremity visualization o Perform basic gynecologic office based procedures e.g. IUD insertion and removal, contraceptive implant insertion and removal, vulvar and endometrial biopsy o Orders, obtains, and interprets appropriate laboratory tests o Provides client-centered counseling and education about family planning methods, and manages patients side-effects, complications, and concerns related to such o Provides counseling, education, and clinical care for all PPGR service lines e.g., STDs, PREP, EC, GAHT, abortion, well person care, breast, and cervical cancer screening o Expected to learn and achieve competence in all existing and new service lines offered to patients by the affiliate o If privileged to do so under the direction of the Medical Director, provide colposcopy/LEEP, abortion (medical and/or procedural), ultrasound, other expanded gynecologic services o Make referrals as appropriate. Follows up with patients as indicated by the severity of the referral condition Maintains professional responsibility and commitment to remaining informed and current on medical knowledge, services and practices provided at PPGR. o Presents medical topics at affiliate in-services as needed o Active member of clinician team. Attends meetings as indicated. Active participation in discussion and decisions about the provision of care in the clinics o Affiliate will provide $1500 and three days paid per fiscal year for professional development, educational conferences, and CEU activities per full time clinician. Part time clinicians will be allotted a prorated benefit. Accepts individual and joint responsibility in health center efforts for achieving o 4 clinician visits/hr o Work RVU of 7/ clinician hour averaged over each month o Fiscal responsibility in revenue, expenses, and contribution margins o Compliance with organizational commitment to quality assurance and federal regulations (OSHA, CLIA) Understands and participates in the organizations patient and team centered approach to health care delivery o Maintains a patient advocate role in monitoring quality of care o Adhere to affiliate policies on professionalism, patient wait time, and addressing patient complaints o Orientates and trains, as delegated, new clinic staff in medical standards and practices. Educates all clinic staff on an on-going basis on medical information consistent with services provided o Protects confidentiality of PPGR clients, staff, volunteers, donors, Board, and all other areas of operations Participates in the development and maintenance of quality care systems and standards, including but not limited to o Documents in the medical record, in English, all encounters with patients, consistent with affiliate Quality Assurance and Risk Management standards o Follows protocol for approved services and operates within the confines of policy, protocol, medical guidelines, and collaborative practice agreements o Consults with the associate medical director, medical director, and health center manager as appropriate. Informs any/all of those listed if an incident with a client occurs which warrant such, including those on the occurrence lists o Compliant with all infection control policies and procedures; safeguards patients and self o Follows HIPAA privacy and security guidelines o Protects PPGR and its assets from liability o Periodic travel to other affiliates may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced Practice Clinician with an advanced degree, or certificate of graduation from an advanced practice certificate course 2 years relevant clinical experience Maintains all licensure and certification up to date and to provide a copy of such to the affiliate. Current licensure (and certification, if applicable) is a condition of employment Holds certification in area of specialty Current state Illinois and Missouri license required Able to function in a collaborative practice agreement Ability to work in a fast paced setting Ability to make sound, ethical, independent decisions consistent with medical protocols Understanding of and commitment to health care and to patients involvement in their health care Ability to effectively work with diverse populations Effective oral and written English communication skills
