We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with at least 7 years of experience, preferably with industry experience in healthcare or dental services. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning to promote the organization’s growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership:
Manage all accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and monitor the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the dental office’s financial goals and objectives.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present findings to executive leadership; ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Audit and Compliance:
Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and optimize cash flow to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the practice management, clinical teams, and vendors to support operational needs and maintain cost efficiency.
Industry-Specific Financial Insights:
Provide specialized knowledge in the dental or healthcare field, understanding the nuances of revenue cycles, insurance claims processing, and cost management in clinical settings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Industry experience in healthcare, dental, or a similar field is strongly preferred.
Proficient in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated success in process improvements, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
