As part of the US Higher Education team, the
Senior Director, Brand Marketing
& Engagement
leads and drives a comprehensive brand marketing strategy that drives growth, strengthens brand presence, and cultivates customer engagement and advocacy. This role develops strategic partnerships, drives advocacy marketing initiatives, and collaborates cross-functionally to align brand marketing efforts with organizational objectives. This position is responsible for the budget and builds a scalable team to support brand marketing and engagement efforts.
What you'll do here:
Develops and implements a robust brand marketing strategy that aligns with US HED business objectives, drives growth, and strengthens Cengage Higher Ed's brand presence across all channels and customer segments.
Identifies and establishes strategic partnerships that align with the US HED brand and enhances market presence.
Manages relationships with external partners to increase the impact of collaborative marketing efforts.
Leads the development of advocacy marketing strategies that build brand loyalty and cultivates strong relationships with key collaborators, partners, and customers.
Drives customer engagement strategies that attract and retain customers, turning them into brand advocates.
Leads existing programs, including a nationwide community of faculty, administrators, and student advocates, the Empowered Educator Program, and the Empowered Educator Community Platform.
Collaborates with senior marketing leadership, functional marketers, product development, and sales teams to communicate strategic and program objectives, ensuring agreement and alignment to increase organizational value.
Designs and implements a scalable organizational framework that can be effectively applied across various customer types and is adaptable for future integration of related shared marketing functions.
Plays a key role in marketing campaign planning and execution, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and effective engagement of target audiences.
Collaborates across the organization to conduct regular market and competitive analysis, gathering insights on market trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape to find opportunities for brand growth and differentiation.
Develops and owns the budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and increasing return on investment.
Skills you will need here:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
Minimum of 12 years confirmed experience in marketing
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within the education industry.
Strong critical thinking and leadership skills with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive brand marketing strategies.
Demonstrated success in establishing and leading strategic partnerships to improve brand presence.
Experience in developing and implementing advocacy marketing programs.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
Knowledge of marketing campaign planning, execution, and alignment with strategy.
Strong analytical and market research skills to gather insights and find opportunities for brand growth and differentiation.
Budget management experience.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
