Maternity leaveJob DetailsReports To: ControllerPosition Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing our financial operations, leading a team of 5 to 8 direct reports, and driving the enhancement of our ERP system, Yardi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, leadership, and ERP system management, with a focus on standardizing and improving financial processes across the organization.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 5 to 8 accounting professionals, ensuring high performance and effective collaboration.ERP System Enhancement: Lead the ongoing enhancement of the Yardi ERP system, working closely with IT and other departments to optimize financial workflows and reporting capabilities.Standardization Project: Spearhead a company-wide initiative to standardize month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and the management of all financial books to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and review of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations, reduce errors, and enhance the overall efficiency of the finance department.Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial transactions and reporting to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the Controller in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and analysis to drive sound financial decision-making.Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives, ensuring alignment between financial processes and business needs.Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the accounting team to enhance their skills and ensure they are up-to-date with industry best practices.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.Strong proficiency with Yardi ERP system, including experience in system enhancement and optimization.Proven experience in standardizing financial processes, particularly around month-end close and financial reporting.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and at all levels of the organization.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Interested in hearing more?
