The Vexus brand will remain during the transition.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Understand and articulate Metronet's vision and long-range business goalsIdentify new growth markets for Metronet to expand fiber services, contact, schedule meetings/presentations, and collaborate with internal teams to finalize agreementsManage, establish, and foster critical relationships with city entities and elected officials, both virtually and in person when possibleManage tasks that move markets from the initial due diligence and engagement stage through pre-construction and board approvalBuild and maintain a portfolio with active projects, strong potential market pipelines and forecasts along with advocate for future opportunities.Facilitate and manage confident handoffs of local market relationships to other Metronet divisionsConduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.Confidently network with elected and appointed officials to educate them about Metronet Fiber, fostering long-term relationships.Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform business development strategiesRepresent Metronet at industry events, conferences, networking opportunities, and city council meetings to promote the company and identify potential business opportunitiesSupport senior management and leadership in strategic planning for current and potential activities related to fiber overbuild project implementationContinuously review and improve new market/business development processes and procedures to drive efficiency and effectivenessCollaborate with the leadership team to identify, train, and support the New Market team.Perform any other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Extensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry, outside plant construction civil engineering, capital project management, and infrastructure constructionBachelor's Degree and/or related experienceAt least 5+ years of experience in fiber telecommunications, public relations, public affairs, local/state government, or relevant related field
preferredStrong and persuasive verbal and written communicationProven success collaborating with a wide range of people at all levelsEffective organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure in high-stress environmentsDemonstrated a high level of professionalism via email, phone, and in personExhibited a high level of proficiency with customer service and negotiating difficult situations/conversationsDisplays original thinking and creativity; presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention.Savy in using social media and other online tools to find prospects and build a solid pipeline of leads.Adaptable to changing conditionsAbility to travel up to 50% as needed
