OverviewThe First Line of Defense Senior Risk Analyst will work within the Bank’s first line of defense risk management function and will support the execution of the first line of defense risk management program. The Senior Analyst will work with the first line of defense managers and team leaders to conduct consistent and effective testing of control design and effectiveness.
This role requires an individual with knowledge of the Bank’s policies, guidelines, and practices and the ability to support a developing first line testing and risk management program.
Responsibilities
Support the execution of first line testing of controls to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of business unit controls.
Conduct walkthroughs and help business units identify and understand the impact of applicable risks as part of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program.
Manage assigned tasks and create detailed control testing documentation.
Assist with the validation and closure of control issues.
Work collaboratively with other team members across lines of defense.
Keep stakeholders informed of testing progress and findings, and help escalate issues as needed
Stay up to date and knowledgeable about current and emerging business risks.
Provides support for special projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of related work experience in audit, supervision, risk management or compliance with a banking / financial services company.
Knowledge of banking operations, products, and services; experience with risks and controls/control gap identification related to Loan Operations, Commercial Lending and Banking, Retail Banking, Bank Support and Corporate functions (such as Marketing, HR, Accounting, FP&A etc.). AML/BSA, Payment Fraud Cross-border Banking, and Digital Banking is a big plus.
Understanding of federal and/or state compliance regulatory requirements applicable to Banks.
Professional and self-motivated with an ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Experience conducting risk assessments, testing controls, and helping business units address risk management challenges.
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to manage time, stay organized, and prioritize.
Analytical skills with the ability to identify, research and weigh risk and control issues
Strong Microsoft Office knowledge; preferably advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills and familiarity
Professional risk management certification (CIA, PRM, CRMP).
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is USD $70,000.00/Yr. - USD $85,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
