ROLEGuided by functional strategy, this role primarily involves leading and managing a network team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of network infrastructure. Responsibilities include overseeing the installation, maintenance, and modification of both local and wide area network systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business needs, and proactively addressing network issues to enhance customer experience and minimize disruptions. Develops comprehensive network plans and policies, providing end-user support, evaluating new technologies, ensuring licensing conformity, and supporting disaster recovery efforts.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESLeads a network team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of network infrastructure, including hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating team members. Develops team goals, provides regular performance feedback, and fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment.Manages the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and modification of the organization's local and remote wide area network system. Regularly provides guidance and acts as a lead to other employees.Evaluates and recommend hardware, software, and data communication equipment solutions to optimize network efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and ensure that network solutions align with business needs.Manages networking contracts on an enterprise level.Proactively identifies and addresses network issues to minimize disruptions and enhance the overall customer experience.Develops comprehensive network plans, systems policies, and standards and ensures adherence to security procedures.Provides end-user support to include problem determination, resolution, and training.Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains local, remote, and wide-area network hardware, software, and data communication services, such as personal computers, system software, applications, printers, servers, modems, switches, cabling, and Internet service.Develops, tests, implements, and enforces policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisitions, use, support, and security.Installs, upgrades, configures, and maintains network devices, network printing, directory structures, rights, user environment, software, file services, and related security issues.Prepares and maintains network configuration documentation, network maps, and cabling plans to facilitate troubleshooting and knowledge transfer.Provides users with support, including responding to Helpline requests.Researches and evaluates system needs and new technologies. Recommends solutions.Ensures licensing conformity for all extents of responsibilities.Maintains inventory of hardware and software assets.Monitors and maintains network stability.Supports and implements disaster recovery plan.Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:Eight years related experience and expert knowledge of systems administration, computer hardware, computer software (e.g., Microsoft Servers, Server and Application Virtualization Infrastructure, SAN/NAS Technology/Storage, and thin client architecture).Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications and programs in position related area, including highly technical knowledge of company procedures and policies.Current developments and trends in areas of expertise.Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications.Cisco products, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, desktop operating systems, and server hardware troubleshooting.Network monitoring systems and Firewalls.Micro-segmentation technologies.SSL VPN, MPLS, AVPN, SDWAN.Wireless technologies.VOIP.Private/Public Cloud Networking Solutions.Leadership and organizational skills.P&L management.Problem-solving skills.Ability to understand and follow directions.High school diploma or GED required.Bachelor's degree preferred.Valid Driver's License required.
