Job Description
Purpose:
The primary objective of this position is to provide financial leadership and business support for the Botox Franchise. This position leads and manages financial planning processes and analysis, owns the brand P&L, supports decision-making support and recommendations to Senior Management. This position supports senior management on all aspects of Finance; this includes managing P&L, developing financial projections, coordinating pricing and volume forecasting for the brand, supporting decision making and strategic projects, taking into consideration market dynamics and resourcing. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements and staff development as required. This position directly supports the VP commercial Botox.
Responsibilities:
Strategic finance business partner for target functions - provide clear and concise narrative, robust financials and deliverables that can be reviewed with Executive management. Coordinate, pressure tests and summarize all aspects of financial planning and reporting (expenses, P&L management, volume forecast, pricing assumptions, patient support program assumptions) into concise and comprehensive narratives. Own the full P&L in front of management (VPs and Neuroscience President), provide big picture view while understanding and challenging the financial components.
Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual Plan, LRP and LBEs as required, ensuring accurate and timely integration of sales forecast, pricing and investment resourcing, to meet overall division/corporate calendar deadlines. This includes Sales, P&L, headcount forecasts, using planning system and incorporates review changes of both financial and operating management.
Responsible for financial input for the monthly, quarterly and annual closes and reporting.
Serve as interface with other finance functions (internal controls, NEC consolidation, supply chain and logistic center, other) for the brand.
Identify process and tool optimization opportunities within Botox and NEC teams and drive projects.
Collaborate with PCS to align the long term forecasting assumptions between pipeline and on market assets to appropriately represent the toxin lifecycle and strategy. Participate in strategic projects to provide financial analysis that lend insight into key business drivers enabling operating management to adapt more appropriate tactics/strategy to meet the LRP objectives – could be related for instance to life cycle management, IRA strategy or others…
Staff Development – Responsible for delegating to and coaching a staff of employees to ensure an optimal level of support to the business and provide coaching and career development opportunities to sustain a high performing staff.
Individual is expected to successfully perform all responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy
Qualifications
Requires 7-10 years progressive FP&A experience in the pharma industry
Management experience & focus on development of direct report and extended staff
Ability to influence without direct authority
Ability and desire to proactively search out and evaluate business problems and opportunities
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong communication skills, able to summarize complex business dynamics into deliverables for executives
Ability to operate independently, lead multiple processes and meet tight deadlines while balancing competing priorities
Capability to direct efforts to achieve answers and results
Demonstrated problem solving and analysis within a broad framework of AbbVie’s financial policies (CFMs), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Technical skills, knowledge of systems such as PowerBI, BPC
Preferred: MBA in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA/CMA
Bachelor’s or Master´s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
Multi-division experience and knowledge of the financial planning process
