Unit Specifics:·Number of Beds: 30·Patient Ratio : 5-6 : 1·Unit staffing description - Unit clerk on days, 2-3 PCT’s day & night, Nursing Supervisor,Hospitalists·Type of equipment: Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, Philips Telemetry andMP2’s·Documentation system : Meditech-HCA version·Medications: WOW with med drawers,PyxisES dispensing system·Scheduling requirements : equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts/4-weekschedule)·Floating policy : other M/S areas: general MS, Ortho, PCU (Progressive Care Unit),M/S surgical w oncology. We rotateunless skill mix is needed.·Patient Experience requirements : Bedside Rounding, Hourly Rounding with 5P’s checked. Reporting toPCT’s of known needs at beginning and during shifts, Check glass board fordept focus areas, Scrolling video kiosk available as well as email for updatereferences.Hospital Specifics-·Certifications : BLS/ACLS/NIH

Must have : ACLS/BLS

Advanced skills needed: Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodaronedrips

Procedures performed on unit: Chest Tube management, woundvac management, EKG’s ad lib,

Certifications Required: ACLS

Dress Code : RN- Navy and CNA/PCT- ceil blue scrubset and jacket (if desired). May wear white, blue, grey, or black tshirtunderneath if desired- no graphics.No artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish

Unit Guidelines/Policies : Documentation of telemetry application,acknowledging rhythm strips and place in chart each shift. NO PASS ZONE forbed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms, etc.
