The Associate Art Director will be responsible for concepting, directing and executing creative assets with a focus but not limited to E-commerce photoshoots and imagery. They will be responsible for leading seasonal E-commerce photoshoots and seeing the process from start to finish. They will need to deliver imagery that adheres to the brand creative vision and guidelines. The Associate Art Director will support the Senior Art Director on the prep and post-production of seasonal photo shoots. This individual should also have strong knowledge and solid experience in print and digital design layouts, as this role will require designing assets for multiple platforms. They should be able to work seamlessly in Adobe Creative Suite programs. The Associate Art Director should be able to concept, edit photo sessions, markup imagery, review retouching edits, and design assets.

The Associate Art Director should have a strong understanding and experience leading studio-based photoshoots for both on-figure and product imagery. They will work closely alongside the Senior Art Director and the in-house styling team and producers. This candidate should have elevated taste and understanding of current trends in photography, layout designs, typography and styling.

This role is based in Raleigh NC and will report into the Senior Art Director.

This is an in-house position that may require some travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Art direct E-commerce photoshoots.Support the Senior Art Director with concepts, story boards, shot-lists, on-set art direction, photo editing and image reviews.Design printed and digital seasonal line books, catalogs and mailers.Detail oriented and time management skills are a must.Ensure that all visual content aligns with the brands guidelines and is consistent with the overall brand aesthetic.Work with production team to ensure photo shoot needs are met.Build shot lists and communicate shoot direction and needs to production team, stylists and photographer.Ability to edit on-set and communicate retouching needs to the retouching team.Partner with Senior Art Director on set designs, lighting, hair and makeup direction and model selection.Have a strong knowledge of current trends in photographer, lighting, fashion, typography and layout design.Ability to prioritize and manage project deadlinesExcels at working both independently and in a collaborative environment.This role may require some travel.QUALIFICATIONS:

Fundamental understanding of design and branding best practicesMust be detail orientated.A strong understanding of fashion, luxury branding, design, and typography.Experience in retouching and photo editing.5+ years of experience in the creative field.3+ years of experience on set (on-figure, soft goods and/or video)Strong conceptual abilities with a high attention to detail.Works well under pressure and deadline.Ability to act and operate independently.Proficiency in Mac software programs, including Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Keynote and PowerPoint.Understand foundational design concepts (i.e. spatial relations & typography) and be an out of the box thinker to create new experiences within our design aesthetic.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

3+ years of studio art direction experience.5+ years in the creative field.Strong experience in print and digital layouts.Video art direction is a plus.Knowledge in print production is a plus.Experience in directing photoshoot teams for on-figure and still life product shoots.Ability to work on multiple projects and manage timelines in a fast-paced environment.BA or BFA preferred in Arts, Fine Arts or Graphic Design.Must have a portfolio with relevant work examples.
