THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Crime Victim Compensation Specialist, you will investigate, determine, and prepare financial reimbursement and compensation-related services for victims of crime, their families, and other claimants. You will also ensure victim rights, as provided by law, are consistent with victim services standards and procedures. Excellent communication skills are required to correspond with claimants and providers, as well as to refer reliable and appropriate resources in the community.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework:

You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, reporting to the office 1 day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.Salary:

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the commonwealth's Criminal Justice System Specialist Trainee program;

orOne year of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a bachelor's degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field;

orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:
