The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food and Nutrition is seeking a Manager for the North Liberty Food Service. This position manages the Food and Nutrition Services at Medical Center North Liberty campus, including inventory control, food production, patient food service, retail food service and clinical services. This position ensures standardization of processes, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and safety regulations are followed. Develops and manages the performance of staff. This position is also a preceptor for Master of Clinical Nutrition Students.
Hire, develop, and manage the performance of staff in a departmental unit or functional division.Prepare and/or assist in budget development; provide projections and recommendations. Manage financial and productivity data and monitor the budget to meet goals. Resolve budget discrepancies.Identify trends and determine QA priorities. Recommend QA and patient/customer satisfaction strategies. Develop and monitor plans to enhance patient satisfaction.Identify needs, trends, and forecasts to provide quality patient care.Develop action plans for the unit that meet strategic goals; provide progress reports to the department director or director of clinical functions.Advocate for needs of the unit with healthcare leaders; may collaborate with the medical director of the unit regarding program development, process improvements, and equipment budgets.Provide clinical education to develop staff competency. Oversee clinical education activities and agreements with other educational institutions.Collaborate with research staff to ensure clinical and research needs are met.The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Care's nationally recognized Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive, coordinated, and accessible care across the outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities will also include a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department as well as an array of support services. The facility has been designed to support a superior patient and staff experience; excellence across our patient care, teaching and research missions; convenient access to services; and engaging community partnerships. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.At least 3-5 years of experience working in healthcare food service.Licensure by the State of Iowa is required.Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications.Experience fostering a welcoming and respectful environment.Desirable Qualifications
Masters degree preferred.Demonstrated supervisory experience and project coordination.Knowledge and understanding of hospital setting, policies, procedures and services to effectively communicate with patients, guests and staff.Proficiency with CBORD software.Proficiency with EPIC.
