Job Description
The Vice President for Social Impact provides strategic leadership and supervision for all Social Responsibility programs and initiatives for the Olympic Peninsula YMCA. The Vice President for Social Impact is responsible for staff training and development, as well as community relationships and strategic alliances, related to Social Responsibility programs and services. The Vice President for Social Impact is responsible for developing, leading, delivering, and administering a varied, outcome-based portfolio of Social Responsibility programs and services across the Olympic Peninsula YMCA's 3 Branches, including but not limited to:
• Advocacy and Civic Engagement
• Barrier Removal (Including Recompete - https://www.eda.gov/funding/programs/recompete-pilot-program)
• BIPOC Family Programs
• Building Futures (Mentoring) Program
• Children’s Advocacy Center
• County and Peninsula-wide Social Service Convenings
• Family Resource Center(s) Development
• Food Security
• Resilience Project (Handle with Care, Collaborative Learning Academies)
• Youth & Family Resource Navigation (branch-based, school-based, and/or community-based)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social work or related field, Master’s degree preferred.Five or more years of related experience including staff and volunteer supervision, community engagement, child and family/child-advocacy skills, financial management, fundraising/grant writing, and grant/contract management and reporting.Demonstrate a genuinely warm, caring personality, sense of creativity, and practical application of the Science of Hope.Ability to relate well and communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals in all circumstances.Ability to establish, process and problem-solve complex registration and/or tracking processes.Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.Strong administrative and computer skills, including working with Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, program and operating software, and internet applications.Pass a comprehensive background check.Be 21 years of age or older.Essential Functions
Strategy Development & Implementation:
In conjunction with CEO, develops, leads, and implements a comprehensive strategy -- including organizational aspirations, vision, and measurable outcomes - for Social Responsibility programs and services.Community Relationships:
Informed by community needs and strengths, establishes and deepens community relationships, partnerships, and collaborations to maximize community-based voice, resources, and assets in support of children and families. In alignment with Social Responsibility strategy, works with community partners to identify and mitigate gaps in programs and services for children and families.Advocacy:
Develops, leads, and implements strategy to increase internal and external awareness of, and advocacy for, “upstream” solutions for family and community supports (e.g., policies and systems that could improve food & nutrition security).Personnel Supervision & Support:
Helps to strengthen the Y’s commitment to its core values and to inclusion and sustainability in supervision of staff and volunteers involved in Social Responsibility programs/services. Works to ensure that all staff and their families see themselves as vital members of a well-connected, supportive community.Grants/Contracts/Philanthropy:
Develops, leads, and implements strategy to ensure sustainability of Social Responsibility programs and services via new and existing grants, contracts, and private philanthropy. Ensures compliance with funding streams including financial tracking and reporting, data management, outcome measurements, and narrative summaries.
Required Certifications
YMCA Organizational Leader preferred.
