POSITION SUMMARY : This position is responsible for supervising the accurate and timely execution of accounts payable, various treasury functions, maintaining general ledger postings with account reconciliations, and portions of the month/year end close processes. Reporting to the Controller, this position may be assigned special projects and is expected to have experience managing multiple accounting related systems. In addition, the Supervisor will oversee the company credit card program and perform various expense audits. This position will supervise accounting personnel and ensure that all work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and monitor daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger to ensure accuracy.Perform analysis utilizing a wide range of reports to ensure consistency and documentation of existing business processes.Identify areas for process improvement to optimize accuracy related to accounts payable and other company wide initiatives.Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.Manage the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company’s automated financial systems.Participate in month end, quarterly, and year end close process.Process weekly check run, vCard run/transmit to Comdata, prepare ACH NACHA file & transmit to bank.Vendor management including: setup for accuracy, validation of 1099 detail to ensure compliance, monitor vendor statements.Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.Oversee credit card and bank administration.Resolves complex accounting issues and/or assists staff members in resolving calculation issues and non-routine reporting transactions.Provide training and cross training to members of the accounting staff.Assist with special projects as needed.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY STATEMENTS):

Must be skilled in analysis, problem solving, decision-making, planning, organizing, meeting deadlines, multi-tasking, attention to detail, and communication.Experience managing a team of 3 or larger.Advance knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Advance working knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.Advance knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.Ability to process large amounts of numerical data including a high volume of vendor invoices, and familiarity with general ledger required.Must be skilled in analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports, statements, and projections.Industry related knowledge is a plus.Hands-on, lead by example, highly motivated and passionate work/leadership style with team building experience, able to motivate and empower others.Proven ability to interact with people, clear fluent expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas so others will understand.Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline with 5+ years of accounting related experience to include 3+ years in a lead/supervisory role or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Industry related knowledge is a plus.Computer skills:

Adequate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications.Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup)Highly skilled in the use of various types of accounting software and database systems.Computer Skills
