Position Description
The mission of this position is to enhance data systems efficiency by providing comprehensive database systems support. This includes creating, operating, monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting database-related issues. The role is dedicated to implementing best practices, ensuring seamless data flow, and supporting application support groups and customers throughout the city.
Work Location
This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and enhance the performance of existing database systems.Assist application support teams with troubleshooting issues related to database access and usage.Implement and maintain database security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality, including access control, encryption, and auditing.Assist application development teams in designing new database structures to meet the organization's data storage needs.Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide technical expertise.Develop and maintain documentation for database designs, procedures, and processes.Collaborate with support vendors to implement and support changes.Keep abreast of developments and best practices in database engineering.Mentor staff , supporting and educating on various technology topics.Provide technical expertise to project managers and leadership.WORK ENVIRONMENT

Required Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related
fi eld.
Minimum Experience
Five plus to ten years of related work experience.
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of education and highly related experience in a similar environment may be considered.
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of one or more of the following steps: a rating of relevant education and experience and/or an oral examination (100%). It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list.
