Description
Purpose StatementThe job of Senior Coordinator, Claims - WCT/UP is done for the purpose/s of providing administrative support in the data entry, setup, adjusting and resolution of workers' compensation and unemployment compensation claims and other assigned roles; and maintaining services within established guidelines, regulations, and standards in support of school districts' claims and risk management efforts.

Essential FunctionsCommunicates with WCT/UP leadership, related departments, member district personnel, experts, claimants, attorneys, and other outside organizations for the purpose of coordinating activities, responding to inquiries, exchanging information, and resolving claim filesCompletes the initial intake process with employers, claimants, medical providers, and witness(es) on new claims or incident reports for the purpose of completing the initial assessment.Embodies the principles and practices that form our culture and commitment to becoming an Antiracist Multicultural Organization for the purpose of meeting the Agency's End: Success for Each Child and Eliminating the Opportunity Gap by Leading with Racial Equity.Liaises between WCT/UP and member districts for the purpose of facilitating communication, teamwork, and mutual support.Maintains workers' compensation claims and records for the purpose of documenting actions and ensuring compliance with participating district policies, Industrial Insurance Laws, and/or state regulations.Manages "maintenance" claims in collaboration with the Director of Claims and the Director of Finance that are technically closed but open for collection purposes (e.g., overpayment and third-party claims) for the purpose of ensuring responsible stewardship of entrusted resources.Oversees the performance of Claims Coordinators for the purpose of ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the claim intake and document management functions.Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.Performs record keeping and general clerical functions (e.g., copying, filing, faxing, maintaining supplies, forms, scheduling appointments, etc.) for the purpose of supporting program operations.Responds to inquiries from a variety of individuals (e.g., WCT/UP leadership, related departments, member school districts, educational organizations, claimants, vendors, medical providers, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating activities, resolving issues, facilitating communication among parties, exchanging information, and/or providing direction.Screens claim forms and incident reports submitted by member districts for the purpose of providing initial assessment and staff assignment.Supports Claims Consultants and the Claims Director for the purpose of maintaining efficiency of team/program operations and/or delivering services in conformance with established guidelines.Other FunctionsAssist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.Job-Specific Competencies
