User Researcher
to join our team. If you have a deep understanding of homelessness issues, experience in the nonprofit sector, and expertise in user-centered research, we'd love to hear from you. Your role will involve leading interviews, workshops, and facilitated sessions to gather insights that will help us develop innovative solutions to homelessness.
What You'll Be Doing:Leading User Research:
Designing and conducting research studies to understand the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.Engaging Stakeholders:
Collaborating with community partners, government agencies, and affected populations to gather diverse perspectives.Conducting Qualitative & Quantitative Research:
Using both qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategies to address homelessness.Developing Insights:
Translating user research into actionable insights to guide program development and service improvements.Facilitating Workshops:
Planning and leading co-creation and design-thinking workshops with stakeholders to develop community-driven solutions.Improving Continuously:
Recommending changes to existing programs based on research findings.Reporting and Communicating:
Developing comprehensive research reports and presenting findings to leadership and stakeholders.What You'll Need:
Nonprofit Experience:
At least 3 years of experience working in or with nonprofit organizations, particularly those addressing homelessness.Homelessness Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of the homelessness crisis in Southern California.User Research Expertise:
A strong background in conducting user research, especially with underserved or vulnerable populations.Facilitation Skills:
Proven experience in conducting facilitated sessions, focus groups, and community workshops.Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and work with diverse teams.Analytical Skills:
The ability to synthesize complex information and derive actionable insights.Empathy and Cultural Competence:
A deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.What We'd Love to See:
Public Policy or Social Work Experience:
A background in public policy, urban planning, or social work, particularly related to housing and homelessness.Government and Community Partnership Experience:
Experience working with local government agencies and community organizations.Design Thinking:
Familiarity with design thinking principles and human-centered design methodologies.
