About This Role
Carrier has an opportunity for an
Application Engineer
to join the Occupant-Side Applied team supporting our commercial product portfolio including water source heat pumps, room fan coils, air terminals, unit ventilators and vertical packaged systems. This position can be based in Syracuse, NY or Charlotte, NC. It may also be a remote role for a qualified candidate.
As an Application Engineer, you will work closely with the product manager, our sales teams, and a cross functional product team to support our company's customers. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the sales of assigned products by providing accurate and timely responses to presales inquiries and by assisting with equipment selections by reviewing specifications, design documents, equipment schedules, and application criteriaCreate, maintain, and update technical sales material, including product data, technical manuals, product bulletins, marketing brochures, application guides, technical presentations, and sales presentationsPerform presentations of sales and training material at sales offices, customer events, industry gatherings, and through webinars and recorded sessionsProcess customer engineered to order (ETO) request by working across multiple disciplines to review, document, and generate pricing for customer requestsWork with product managers to perform competitive and market analysis, collect sales office and customer feedback for assigned products. Assist with planning and implementing product updates, new product releases and provide critical input for the development of product roadmapsMaintain selection software and pricing systems, work across multiple disciplines to implement corrections, updates, and new product releases in the selection software and pricing systemsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree2+ years of HVAC Product ExperiencePreferred Qualifications
BS Degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience with one or more of the following is preferred; vertical packaged units (VPAC), water source heat pumps (WSHP), room fan coils, unit ventilators, air terminals, building automation and control of HVAC equipment.Product marketing experience in a technical environmentExcellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersTechnical understanding of HVAC systems, including system design, building and energy codes, system operation, refrigeration systems, fans, electrical and control systems, and psychometricsWell-developed analytical thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving skills. Ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, develop conclusions, and propose solutionsStrong interpersonal skills, including active listening, teamwork, responsibility, dependability, flexibility, motivation, respect, and patienceProficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Competency in business fundamentals, strong math skills, experience with SAPWell-developed organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and self-direct with multiple activities and projects
