Position Summary
Position Funded through June 30, 2025
The Nursing Clinical Affiliations Coordinator establishes relationships with outside agencies to place students in clinical rotations. Ensures all program requirements are met, develops sites, attends meetings, collects evaluations, and maintains records. Collaborate with clinical educators, administrators, community partners, alums and other stakeholders to streamline orientation, onboarding and data collection and maintenance processes. The ideal candidate possesses strong project management and communication skills. This position works in collaboration with other clinical coordinators in the Nursing Department and within the greater college community. This position requires someone who is highly organized, plans ahead, and meets deadlines. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Nursing and provides support to all the Nursing Programs. The ideal candidate will promote the mission, philosophy, and goals of the College and the Nursing Programs.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE:Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Collaborates with nursing and allied health faculty to assign students to clinical groups.Prepares clinical documents for clinical placement rotations for the all Nursing Programs studentsBuilds and maintains community partnerships to establish ongoing placement sites for student clinical rotations and preceptorship.Tracks and matches clinical practice experience, settings, and specific patient encounters.Establishes preceptorships which includes writing agreements, collecting evaluations, distributing and gathering survey data, processing information and developing formats for data to be easily interpreted and understood.Responsible for gathering and maintaining student immunization records, background check, and other required documents for each cohort of students.Maintain up to date list of approved clinical affiliation agreements.Maintain up to date placement data to faculty on a regular basis.Ensures program compliance with the Washington State Nursing Board.Attends meetings, takes meeting minutes, and reports pertinent information to the Associate Dean of Nursing and Director of Nursing.Responsible for following up with program graduates to collect hiring data and program effectiveness.Assists with the nursing programs accreditation reviews, self-study element, and compliance and accreditation maintenance requirements.Responsible for sending out the clinical and preceptorship site surveys and analyzing the information.May assist with designing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the curriculum for the clinical phase.Comply with all HIPPA and FERPA requirements for managing and maintaining confidential student records for clinical placement.Maintain data base to support nursing accreditationResearch and implement best practices for clinical placement for students in the Nursing DepartmentUtilize Microsoft Word and Excel for tracking and report writing; utilize Microsoft Outlook to keep track of upcoming appointments and deadlines.Utilize secured online document management, learning, and certification system to verify student criteria for clinical placement.Provide overall student support and assist with any technical issues related to placements.Under supervision of Dean/Director, provide support and maintain certification and program tracking for faculty members.Answering phones and responding to inquiries.Data Collection and analyticsIdentify areas for process improvement within clinical placement workflows and implement data-driven solutions to streamline operationsDevelop and implement effective data collection strategies from the alums, community partners and other nursing program stakeholdersTabulate and analyze data to improve processes in the nursing departmentUtilize data analytics to enhance efficiency, strategic decision-making and overall effectiveness of the nursing programQualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED and three years of relevant experience in a healthcare or nursing support setting with an emphasis with clinical coordination, database software, records management, and/or developing community partnerships;
ORAssociates degree and one year of relevant experience.Intermediate experience with word processing, email and spreadsheet software.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with student clinical placement or clinical field coordinationExtensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Bachelor's Degree.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:Able to pass and maintain a background checkValid Washington State Driver's License and reliable vehicle for clinical travel when necessary
