Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Oracle Database Engineer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Oracle database technologies, including database design, data modeling, performance tuning, and database administration. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of Oracle databases, while contributing to data architecture design and supporting development teams. This role requires hands-on expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle database optimization techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Design & Architecture:Design, implement, and optimize Oracle database architectures to meet application and business requirements.Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, including database schemas and entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs).Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure Oracle database design aligns with application needs and business goals.
SQL & PL/SQL Development:Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers.Support developers by designing and reviewing efficient SQL and PL/SQL queries, ensuring optimal data access patterns.
Performance Tuning:Proactively monitor and troubleshoot Oracle database performance issues, including query performance, indexing, partitioning, and resource contention.Implement performance tuning techniques such as query optimization, indexing strategies, materialized views, and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) configurations.Analyze and optimize Oracle database settings, such as memory allocation, buffer cache, and connection pooling.
Oracle Database Administration:Administer and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN and Data Guard.Plan and execute Oracle database upgrades, patching, migrations, and performance audits.Manage Oracle RAC, ASM (Automatic Storage Management), and Oracle Grid Infrastructure for clustered environments.
Data Management & Security:Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.Implement database auditing, encryption, and role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure secure data handling.
Collaboration & Support:Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance on Oracle database design and integration.Support the implementation of ETL processes, data integration workflows, and report generation.Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Oracle database issues in production environments.

Required Qualifications:Experience: 5-8 years of experience as an Oracle Database Engineer, DBA, or similar role.Database Systems: Extensive experience with Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c.SQL & PL/SQL Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning.Data Modeling: Hands-on experience with data modeling, database schema design, and normalization.Performance Tuning: Proven experience with Oracle database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and RAC.Backup & Recovery: In-depth knowledge of Oracle RMAN for backup, recovery, and Data Guard for disaster recovery.Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle ASM, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Grid Infrastructure.Scripting: Experience with shell scripting or other automation tools for database administration tasks.Communication: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Preferred Qualifications:Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification.Experience with cloud-based Oracle environments, such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
