Our client is an industry-leading aerospace manufacturer known for its commitment to quality, precision, and innovation. They are seeking a meticulous Quality Inspector to ensure that all products meet the rigorous standards required in the aerospace industry.Job Summary
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing thorough inspections of aerospace components and assemblies to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of quality control practices, proficiency with inspection tools, and experience with aerospace industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and skilled in documenting and communicating inspection results.Key Responsibilities
Inspection Process:
Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace components, assemblies, and raw materials to verify they meet specifications and quality requirements.Measurement & Testing:
Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect and measure components.Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T to understand specifications and tolerances for each component.Documentation:
Record and document inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions in detailed reports. Maintain accurate and organized records for traceability and compliance.Non-Conformance Management:
Identify non-conforming materials or products, work with engineering and production teams to investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.Quality Standards Compliance:
Ensure all inspections comply with AS9100, ISO, and other relevant quality standards, as well as customer-specific requirements.Continuous Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, providing insights and feedback to help improve processes and reduce defects.QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or an Associate's degree in Quality Control, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.Experience:
3+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in the aerospace or high-precision manufacturing industry.Experience with CMMs and other precision measuring equipment.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.Proficiency in using inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO quality standards.
Soft Skills:
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Good communication skills for clear and effective reporting and collaboration.
Preferred QualificationsCertification:
Quality inspection or ASQ certification is a plus.Software Knowledge:
Familiarity with quality inspection software and data analysis tools.Industry Experience:
Prior experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing is preferred.
