Payroll Specialist

A respected nonprofit organization is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and assist with accounting functions in a well-structured, corporate-style environment. As the Payroll Specialist, you'll ensure payroll accuracy and compliance, working with a close-knit team committed to making a positive impact. This role also offers opportunities to support the accounting team with accounts payable and receivable functions.

Location: Hartford, CT (On-site)
Compensation: $25-28/hour

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist

• Process bi-weekly payroll for under 100 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
• Manage employee data updates, deductions, and tax adjustments within the payroll system.
• Support accounting tasks as needed, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll role.
• The ability to work independently is vital, as this will be the sole payroll specialist
• Familiarity with accounting support duties (AP/AR) is preferred
