Own Your Future.Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Information Systems Security Specialist to support the 53d Test and Evaluation Group (TEG) Experimental Operations Unit (EOU) at Creech AFB, NV.
Candidate will be responsible for work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting the initial standup and follow-on sustainment of the Air Force’s first Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) unit.Responsibilities:This position has the primary responsibility of ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of EOU information systems. The candidate will be directly supporting the USAF’s newest weapon system by assisting in the development of unit cyber security doctrine, personnel construct, facilities, and policy concepts related to CCA. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operators, and analysts, and will have strong problem-solving, adaptability, communication, leadership, and attention to detail skills.Candidate will be responsible for providing Secret Collateral Security, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) Security subject matter expertise in support of the coordination, execution, and management for the Experimental Operations Unit (EOU) security program. Candidate will also be responsible for providing support to security related matters for training and test events.Essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:Perform day-to-day maintenance of systems, including auditing and patch management.Perform technical security assessments of complex systems.Identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies.Apply knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.Write Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) documentation and ensure the systems are operated and maintained in accordance with these security plans.Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management for client systems and programs.Interact with technical team members from multiple organizations in a diversified, team environment.Identify overall security requirements for the proper handling of client data.Perform system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements.Recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements.Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorizations, need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to client systems.Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package.Perform key functions (above) and other security-related tasks as directed on multiple systems, at multiple sites, or for multiple clients.Qualifications:Required Skills:2+ years of experience providing IT support for SAP and SCI information systems.Security+ certificate required.2-5 years of experience with IT security policies, practices, and procedures.Strong ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills.DoD8140 IAM Level II certification required.Experience with Cyber Systems development, sustainment, and baseline planning.DoD, USAF, and interagency information assurance requirements with demonstrated knowledge of the RMF Process.DoD, USAF, and interagency security accreditation procedures.Must be compliant with Department of Defense Directive 8570 (DoDD 8570) Certification– IAT Level II within 6 months of employment.Good analytic skills, capable of network and system troubleshooting, assessment, and resolution.Capable of operating in a demanding environment while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.Desired Skills/Experience:2-5 years of experience with IT security policies, practices, and procedures.Network+ and Microsoft Certified professional (MCP) certifications desired.DOD8140 IAT Level III or experience with ISSO responsibilities.General knowledge of military platforms, systems, and operations.Experience working on-site in a government client environment.Educational Requirements:Technical Associate or Bachelor’s degree is desired.Security Clearance:TS clearance with in-scope SSBI required.Ability to obtain and maintain SCI/SAP/STO clearances required. Current SCI desired.All hires will be contingent on candidate meeting requirements for and gaining required security clearances.Travel Requirements:Routine travel is not expected but may be required based on mission requirements.Non-traditional work hours will be required at times.Expectation is that work will be performed onsite.Occasional telework options may be available with approval from mission partner.U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
